Sari Feferman Presents at OBA’s ‘Top Legal Pandemic Issues for Health Care Providers for the Fall of 2021’

On November 16, 2021, Sari Feferman joined a panel of speakers for a modified discussion on the new and unique legal health issues arising for health care providers in the current pandemic. This OBA program was developed in response to news headlines that highlight unusual stories of health care providers struggling to meet their regulatory obligations amid the changing legal pandemic landscape and to help health lawyers provide accurate and up-to-date advice to their clients. Sari joined Meghan Cowan and Anna Matas to discuss the use of social media by health care providers to express vaccine resistance and anti-vaccine sentiments and the role health regulators play in overseeing public sharing of information by its members. Sari provided a background of social media and vaccine resistance pre-pandemic, discussed how the pandemic changed the public view of social media and vaccine resistance and shared current cases where health regulators have intervened in the use of social media to promote anti-vaccine sentiments.
