Hospital Privileges Challenges

Physicians are typically not employed by the hospitals at which they work. Rather, physicians are generally independent contractors who have privileges at public hospitals. This relationship is governed by the Public Hospitals Act.

We assist physicians whose privileges are at issue in proceedings under the PHA, as well as physicians who are facing complaints or who are having difficulties with colleagues or hospital administration, through the following services:

  • Hospital Complaints and Privileges Challenges and issues with administration
  • Advising professional staff with respect to internal complaints and interpersonal disputes
