Erin to Chair, Lonny to Speak at Health Law Program

Erin will co-chair the Ontario Bar Association's Institute program in Health Law on February 4, 2016. Entitled Health Law Update: Privacy, Transparency and Class Actions, the program will cover issues in professional regulation, health privacy and class actions in health law. Lonny Rosen will participate in a panel discussion on ‘A new era of transparency in health care regulation.’

The panel will review the practices used by health regulatory colleges for dealing with information about their members prior to the demand for transparency made by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in 2014, as well as the new requirements for transparency – an analysis of the colleges’ initiatives. They will also discuss changes to college decision-making processes, changes to the information about health professionals that will be published on the public register and proposed changes to the sexual abuse provisions of the Regulated Health Professions Act.
