Joshua Lerner joined Rosen Sunshine LLP as an associate in July 2019 after practicing at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto. Joshua represents a variety of health care professionals in the regulatory, administrative and civil contexts. He provides opinions and advice to health professionals, institutions, and individuals on various health-related legal matters.
Joshua completed his articles at a national full-service law firm and was called to the bar in June 2018. Prior to his call, he obtained his law degree at Western University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science at Wilfrid Laurier University. While at law school, Joshua participated in a number of advocacy competitions. He represented Western Law at the national Gale Cup competition, where his factum won the second-place prize. Joshua was also an ambassador for incoming students, and volunteered at the school’s legal aid clinic, as well as Lawyers Feed the Hungry.
Joshua regularly volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario, assisting on the Free Legal Advice Hotline to provide those in need with summary legal advice. Further, Joshua was recently elected to the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Health Law and Young Lawyers Division sections.
Joshua is a member of the Advocates’ Society, the Medico-Legal Society, and the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations. He is also a member of Future Sinai, part of the Sinai Health Foundation network.
