Opinions and Advice, General Counsel, and Training
Regulators of professionals require legal support with many aspects of their regulatory functions. We assist regulators by providing opinions, advice, and training to staff and committee members on the legal and regulatory environment in which their registrants practise. We also prepare or review policies and procedures, rules of practice, and guidelines and advise on the delivery of regulatory functions. After two decades of representing registrants and advising regulators, we are acutely aware of the issues with which regulators struggle and are well acquainted with the law regarding same.
We are active members of the Canadian Network of Agencies for Regulation (CNAR), and have provided workshops at CNAR’s annual conference on sexual abuse hearings, governance, costs, credibility assessments and the standard of review.
