Lonny Rosen returns to Osgoode Hall Law School to Teach Health Law

For the second consecutive year, Lonny will join Kelley Bryan of PBP Lawyers in teaching an upper-year seminar course. This year, the course will be entirely virtual. With the aid of guest lectures by leading practitioners, the course will cover a wide variety of health law topics, including: Medicare in Ontario; Controlled acts and protected titles; Professional Regulation; Consent, Capacity and Substitute Decision-Making; Medical Malpractice and Civil Liability; Personal Health Information and Privacy; Hospitals and Health Facilities; Elder Law; Medical Assistance in Dying and End of Life Treatment; Abortion, Reproductive Health and Surrogacy; Human Rights and Health Law; and Research Ethics. New for this year will be a class on The Health Law Implications of Covid-19. Students will be evaluated through a Major paper, a Reflective paper, an in-class presentation, and on their contributions to class discussions including critical analysis of the readings and discussion topics.
