New Medical Marihuana Rules Raise Issues - Lonny Rosen comments
Ottawa’s new proposed amendments to the regulations governing medical marijuana raise issues for physicians, not the least of which is that the drug’s increased regulation will require doctors to carefully document their justification for prescribing it to their patients. In this article, Lonny Rosen noted that it’s important for physicians to realize that their prescribing of marijuana may be reviewed. Physicians should therefore ensure that they carefully document the purpose for which they’re prescribing the drug, the evidence on which they’re relying with respect to the efficacy of the marijuana for a particular patient and the patient’s particular circumstances, as well as any other bases for the prescription.
